There are many track arrangements available to cope with varying property structures and moving and handling tasks. The most simple of all track arrangements is the straight track. The straight track can be fitted in a variety of ways including loft over, joist fixed, wall bracket and gantry.

There are also curved tracks which are available in 15, 22, 45 and 90 degree bends. This particular track is fixed using unistrut sections capped in white plastic. The installation on the left was done in a new build and is fixed on unistrut due to there being no loft access. The unistrut is fixed into the joists, then the track is fixed to the unistrut.

Turntable tracks are available in both manual and powered versions. The manual version typically uses a pull cord system to turn and the powered version would usually take power from the hoist and be operated via a pair of additional buttons on the hand control. The track hoist on the left was installed in a school prior to the suspended ceiling fitters coming in to install.

H system tracks are used where maximum flexibility is required. Also known as an X-Y system these tracks are available in both manual and powered versions although the manual versions are the most popular due to their ease of use and free running track trolleys. The H system allows almost full room coverage between the parallel tracks. This particular installation features a powered version mounted on wall brackets due to the suspended ceiling.
